Autumn Pumpkin Protein Smoothie
I would never complain about the ability to travel, but sometimes you miss the little things from back home, like everything that comes with the changing of the seasons; waking up to brisk morning air, the amber fall colors, leggings and sweaters, changing your coffee order from cold brew to hot latte, sitting around a warm fire, and most importantly pumpkin flavored everything.
So when I came across canned organic pumpkin purée in a Hawaiian market I had to make my move. A little taste of fall along with plenty of vitamin A, heart health fats, and anti-inflammatory spices that will aid in detoxification and tonitfy your digestive system.
I have recently been using Dawn vegan protein powder by Helio, it is packed with superfoods and tastes delicious, but this smoothie can be made with your protein powder of choice!
1 package of Dawn Protein (or 2 scoops vanilla protein of choice)
1/2 cup canned coconut milk
1/2 can pumpkin purée
2 tablespoons macadamia nut butter (or nut butter of choice)
1/2 cup water
4-5 ice cubes
Throw it all in a blender and go! Add more water if you prefer smoothies less thick, add less to turn this into a smoothie bowl. Op with crushed nuts, cinnamon, turmeric and granola.
